13 Hours and 38 Minutes, 2019

On Friday 18 October 2019 Joe and I sat in their kitchen for 13 Hours and 38 Minutes watching ice renditions of my boobs melt. We laughed, we cried, we ate frozen pizza, drank a lot of chai tea, I got a haircut, dissociated a lot, and only left the kitchen to go to the toilet. When we came up with the idea, during The Week I Discovered Chai, we planned to have them melt in my mother’s garden while I recovered from top surgery but when my surgery got pushed even further back we decided to ‘preenact’ the surgery now rather than reenact it later.

13 Hours and 38 Minutes was reenacted at Thought and Action, at Chelsea College of Art on 19 November 2019.
